Job Title: Licensing Specialist 

 Department: Litigation and Investigations 

 Reporting to: Head of Litigation and Investigations 

 Duration: Permanent 

The Licensing Specialist will support the firm’s licensing and regulatory practice across the retail and hospitality sectors, by advising clients on licensing requirements, preparing and presenting Court applications and liaising with relevant regulatory authorities. This role involves working closely with partners and solicitors to deliver technical, commercial, and client-focused licensing support across a broad client base. 

 

The Role 

 

In this role you will be responsible for 

o Advising clients on licensing requirements, processes, and compliance obligations across relevant sectors. 

o Preparing and presenting Court applications, reviewing, and managing licence applications, renewals, variations, and transfers on behalf of clients.

o Drafting correspondences, submissions, and supporting documentation to regulatory authorities. 

o Liaising with regulators, advisers, and third parties to progress applications and resolve issues. 

o Tracking licence conditions, renewal dates, and compliance obligations for clients.

o Conducting legal and regulatory research to support advisory work across various sectors. 

o Maintaining accurate client files in line with confidentiality and risk-management procedures. 

o Supporting client relationship management and, where appropriate, business development initiatives. 

 

The Person 

o Experience working in licensing, regulatory, or legal support within a law firm or professional services environment. 

o Demonstrated experience preparing and presenting licensing applications and dealing with regulatory authorities. 

o Familiarity with Irish and/or EU regulatory frameworks relevant to the firm’s clients. 

o Strong academic or professional background in law, compliance, or a related discipline. 

o Prior experience in a top-tier or mid-tier law firm. 

o Exposure to transactional or advisory work involving retail and hospitality.
